Our Installation Procedures1. Standard installations are performed from the exterior of the house. However, depending on the existing window frame, exterior trim, casing and/or the exterior work area available replacement windows may be installed from the inside of the house. The installation techniques and procedures used will be decided by the installers during the final ‘Site Check’ or upon start of installation. 2. The installers will move and replace any furniture that might be in the way of the installation. (Excluding waterbeds, pianos and any other heavy items that require more than two men to move the item safely without damage to themselves or property)
3.
The installers will remove any window hardware, curtains or window
treatments that interfere with the installation. The installers
will re-install the window hardware and window treatments If
the existing hardware can be re-installed as it was originally
installed. (Most often the window treatment hardware is not
in the way of the installation) 4. When the windows are installed from inside of the house it is usually necessary to take down the wood trim that holds in the old sash runners. When the installation is finished and the trim piece has been re-installed, there will be small holes left from the brad nails used to re-install the window stop wood trim. 5. In the unusual instance that the window stop molding is broken during the installation, the installer will replace the molding with a like piece of wood trim that matches the damaged wood trim. The installer will prime the new wood trim. The installer is not responsible for the finish painting of the replacement trim piece. 6. The new window will be completely cleaned and free of any stains or evidence of being soiled or marked during shipping or from the installation. All window stickers and sticker adhesive will be removed. The glass will be left clean and free of any installation or manufacturing marks or residue. 7. A protective tarp will be used to protect the floor from any damage or debris. After the home improvement has been completed the area will be broom cleaned or vacuumed if necessary. 8. Any plantings directly below first floor windows will have to be 'worked around' or over. If you have any specific plantings that must 'at all costs' be preserved please arrange to have them moved or perhaps covered with a protective box or barrier. 9. We should receive your windows in 12 to 24 days depending upon when we receive your order in our delivery cycle. Specific items that require more lead-time are; garden windows, casements, wood trim windows, entry doors and patio doors. The Winchester Window company cannot guarantee a specific installation date, however we will make every attempt possible to work within your requests and scheduling. 10. We do not reinstall burglar alarms. We do not accept any responsibility for disconnecting or connecting alarm sensors. We will gladly schedule your window installation at a time when your alarm representative can be present to move and reinstall your alarm sensors.
